A Conceptual Framework for Quality Asses Sment of Semantic Mapping between Spatial Ontologies
نویسندگان
چکیده
Quality of integrated data depends on the quality of original data sources, but it can also be affected by the semantic mapping process between ontologies of different sources, thus influencing the quality of querying between multiple data sources. Being aware of semantic mapping quality could help interpreting mapping results in order to obtain better integration of heterogeneous data and would provide higher data quality to users. The question that is still unanswered is how semantic mapping quality can be defined and represented. In this paper, we propose a conceptual framework for characterising semantic mapping quality, which includes a metamodel showing relationship between semantic mappings and their quality aspects, as well as original definitions for characteristics of mapping quality. We define several Mapping Conflict Predicates that can be used to detect incoherence between mappings. We also propose a new semantic model of mapping that includes the different characteristics of mapping quality, which we called semantic model of quality mapping.

متن کاملEstablishing Similarity across Multi-granular Topological-Relation Ontologies
Within the Geospatial Semantic Web, selecting a different ontology for a spatial data set will enable that data’s analysis in a different context. Analyses of multiple data sets, each based on a different ontology, require appropriate bridges across the ontologies. This paper focuses on establishing such a bridge across two topological-relation ontologies of different granularity—the standard e...
متن کاملTowards Knowledge Discovery in Software Repositories to Support Refactoring
Software repositories are typically used to store code together with additional information. These repositories are a valuable source to train knowledge discovery algorithms to detect code smells and other qualitative defects. In this paper we present a lightweight framework to detect previously unknown knowledge from software reposit ories to support refactoring. The results will be usable by ...
متن کاملTowards Ontology Interoperability through Conceptual Groundings
The widespread use of ontologies raises the need to resolve heterogeneities between distinct conceptualisations in order to support interoperability. The aim of ontology mapping is, to establish formal relations between a set of knowledge entities which represent the same or a similar meaning in distinct ontologies. Whereas the symbolic approach of established SW representation standards – base...
متن کاملTowards constructing an Integrative, Multi-Level Model for Cognition: The Function of Semantic Networks
Integrated approaches try to connect different constructs in different theories and reinterpret them using a common conceptual framework. In this research, using the concept of processing levels, an integrated, three-level model of the cognitive systems has been proposed and evaluated. Processing levels are divided into three categories of Feature-Oriented, Semantic and Conceptual Level based o...
